We started with Mike Ball Expeditions on a seven day live aboard on their vessel Spoilsport.
The expedition reports can be seen here. We were onboard from the 12 - 19 June 2025. This period covers two of the trips, first from Cairns to Lizard Island and the second was the return trip. The crew was great providing exceptional service.
Also on board was Dr. Alastair Birtles , Adjunct Professor in Marine Biology, James Cook University, Townsville, QLD. Alastair's specialty is the Dwarf Minke Whale and he provided very informative presentations each evening and daily status briefs. We were fortunate to have him aboard. You can learn more about Dwarf Minke Whales at the Minke Whale Project.
